Bountiful Harvest of Best Times at Gravy Bowl

With the Thanksgiving holiday rapidly approaching, GPAC swimmers wasted no time in feasting on the competition at the 2012 Gravy Bowl Invitational held at UWF November 16-18.  GPAC won the meet with 88 swimmers posting 74% overall best times!

Brooke Ferrara, 15, and James Henderson, 12, once again emerged as the high-point winners for their age group.  Brooke won seven of her individual events, setting personal best times in five of them.  She also posted two new Southeastern cuts (200, 400 IM), and two new ‘AAAA’ times!

James won five of his individual events and set two new Sectional qualifying times (100 Fr, 200 IM).  James also posted personal best times in all seven events contested.

GPAC boasted nine individual event champions: Ferrara (400, 200 IM, 50, 100 Fr, 100, 200 Bk), Henderson (200 IM, 50, 100 Bk, 50, 100 Fly), Renee Henderson, 10 (200 IM, 50, 100 Br), William Henderson, 10 (50, 100 Br), Cameron Jones, 11 (200 Fr), Sara Lypko, 7 (25 Fr) Walker Parra, 11 (500 Fr), Nate Thomas, 16 (50 Fr, 100 Br), and Katherine Turner, 8 (25 Bk).

Sixteen GPAC swimmers accounted for 29 new Southeastern Championship qualifying times!  Congratulations to Coulson Barfield, 12 (100 IM, 50 Bk, 100 Fr), Ethan Beaver, 10 (100 Fr), Caitlin Bridges, 12 (100 Fly, 100 Br), Paige Bridges, 9 (100 Bk), Sophia Diagne, 14 (200 IM, 100, 200 Bk, 100, 200 Br, 100 Fl), Brooke Ferrara, Cameron Jones (50 Bk, 100 Fr), AJ Luth, 12 (50 Br), Steffen Mount, 15 (100 Bk), Tatiana Oberley, 14 (50, 200 Fr), Walker Parra (200 IM), Heidi Schellin, 14 (200 Br), Noah Scoggins, 9 (200 IM), Grace Sill, 12 (100 Br), Nate Thomas (500 Fr, 100 Bk, 100 Fly) and Olivia

In addition to James, six other 14-and unders established new Age Group Sectional cuts: Braden Barkley, 10 (500 Fr, 50, 100 Bk), Caitlin Bridges (100 Fly), Sophia Diagne (200 IM, 100, 200 Bk, 100, 200 Br, 100 Fl), Renee Henderson (200 IM, 50 Fl), William Henderson (100 Bk), AJ Luth (100 Br).
