GPAC Swimmers Excel in Gulf Shores

 

With some of the team competing in Baton Rouge, twelve other GPAC swimmers took advantage of a meet closer to home at the PNY Holiday Invitational held in Gulf Shores, AL December 1 and 2.

Lexi DeJesus, 11, led the way for GPAC, placing first in nine out her ten individual events.  She posted a new ‘BB’ time in the 50-yard freestyle, and ‘B’ times in almost all other events.  Right behind her was Abigail Barr, 14, who won four individual events and placed second in three others.  Her teammate, Kristina Jacques, 15, won three events, and Thomas Young, 12, won three events a well.

In their first meet representing GPAC, Jacob Bell and Thomas Frosch, both 10, each won one individual event, and placed second in one other.  Both boys swam best times in all 3 of their events and Jacob posted a new ‘B’ time in his 100-yd backstroke.

Congratulations to Ryan Harrison, 11, and Madely Jones, 7, who posted all best times in their events.  Madelyn took second in both of her events (25 Bk, 25 Fr), and Ryan placed second in one (50 Fr).  Kierstynn Crawford, 8, also took a second place finish, as did Chloe Hansen, 11.

Brianna Deason, 9, and Adriana Rivera,9, each had three personal best times to round out the successful weekend for GPAC.
