Southeastern Swimming Championships Recap

GPAC traveled to Huntsville Alabama for the Long Course Southeastern Championships from July 14-16. GPAC had a total of 30 swimmers participate in our SE Championship meet with 26 of GPAC swimmers achieving at least one new best time. GPAC accumulated 78 best times out of 139 total swims; coming out to 56% best times across the team. GPAC finished the Long Course Championship weekend by placing 10th overall.

Axel Phillips, 10, won the high point award for 10&Under boys. Axel had a total of 5 new Best Times out of his 6 events and won the 10&Under 200 Free and 200 IM. He also placed second in three other events.

Logan Robinson, 17, defended his titles from the winter SES championships in both the 200 fly and the 200 IM. Logan narrowly missed his Olympic Trials qualifying time in the 200 fly by 19 hundredths of a second. Logan also rewrote the team record book for the senior boys. Logan erased five team records, including his own 200 fly record and the 400 IM record. He also lowered the 18-year-old team mark in the 100 fly, the 200 free and the 200 IM.
