GPAC Senior team competes across the country for championships

 

GPAC swimmers in the Senior and Senior Green training groups traveled to three different championship meets at the end of July. 

First, GPAC had a total of 10 swimmers attend the Southern Zone Senior Championship meet, with nine swimmers achieving at least one new best time. GPAC accumulated 64% best times as a team at the meet. GPAC finished 17th overall with 318 points! Jack Hebert, 17, was the leading scorer for GPAC and garnered four top-8 performances, including a bronze medal in the 400 IM. He swam all best times in his events.

At the same time, GPAC had three swimmers attend USA Swimming Futures championship in Ocala, FL, and all three swimmers posted at least one personal best. Congratulations to Taylor Clements, Max Little and Ian Malone for qualifying for this next-level meet.

Lasty, Logan Robinson flew out to California for the Speedo Junior National Championships. Logan was impressive in his record-setting performances–setting four new personal best times and four new team records. Most notably, though, was his historic performance in the 200m butterfly, as he became the first GPAC swimmer to qualify for the U.S. Olympic team Trials next summer in Indianapolis.
