Senior Jack Hebert Verbals to Carson Newman

GPAC Senior group member and West Florida High School senior Jack Hebert became the second swimmer in the class of 2024 to give a verbal commitment to swim collegiately, as he accepted an offer to attend Carson-Newman University next fall.

“I am extremely excited to announce my commitment to be a student-athlete at Carson-Newman,” Jack stated. “I would like to thanks my friends and family, and everyone who has supported me throughout my life. Talons up!”

Jack is an eight-time Southeastern qualifier for GPAC, and most recently scored two top-16 finishes at the SES championships. Jack is a three-time senior sectional qualifier and was a four-time Senior Zone finalist this summer in Tupelo, MS, finishing third in the 400m IM and fifth in the 800m free. Jack is also a two-time FHSAA state finalist.

Carson-Newman is a NCAA Division II school located in Jefferson City, TN and competes in the South Atlantic Conference (SAC). Jack’s personal best times would already have him scoring in the top-16 for the Eagles in his distance freestyle events, and also in his individual medleys.

“I am thrilled for Jack to find such a great fit for him academically and athletically,” said GPAC head coach Greg Johnson. “Carson-Newman is getting an exceptional student-athlete, and one who is going to continue to grow.”

GPAC is proud of Jack and the hard work he has invested to make his swimming part of his college life next year, and humbled to be a part of the journey of these young adults.
