GPAC Takes 12th at 2025 Southeastern Winter Championships

GPAC traveled to Huntsville, Alabama for the 2025 short course Southeastern Championships February 21st-23rd. Twenty five swimmers represented GPAC at the Championship meet with 22 of them achieving at least one new best time. GPAC accumulated 67 best times out of 117 swims: coming out to 57% best times across the team and finished 12th place with 571 points.
Senior Max Little won his first-ever SES title, out-racing the heat in his last 25 to claim 1st place in the 200-yd Breaststroke and set a new personal best time. Max placed 12th overall in the 15 and over boys, scoring 51 points for the team.
Taylor Clements, 16, placed 2nd overall in the 15 and over girls scoring 73 points. She claimed the top spot in the 50-yd Freestyle along with lowering her own GPAC team record and in the 50-yd Breaststroke along with 2nd place in the 100 Breaststroke and 100 Freestyle.
Ian Malone, 17 who was the 100-yd Freestyle champion in 2023, reclaimed his title with a new personal best time and a win in the 100-yd freestyle and 2nd place in the 200-yd Freestyle. Ian placed 4th overall in the 15 and over boys, scoring 73 points for the team.
Lane Robinson, 12 was one of GPAC’s top placing age group swimmer of the meet, placing 9th with 75.5 points. Lane placed top 8 in 5 of his events; 200 Free, 200 IM, 100 Fly, 500 Free and the 100 Free.
GPAC had several first-time SES qualifiers who placed top 16; Bill Caves (14) made it back to finals in the 200 Butterfly, Oliver Johnson (14) made it back to finals in the 200 Backstroke, Meryl Ramos (10) scored points in the 50 and 100 Breaststroke, Benjamin Stewart (14) made it back to finals in the 50 Breaststroke and the 200 IM and Grace Walen (14) scored points for the team in the 1650 Free.

Congratulations to the following swimmers who got an SES qualifying time out of a Bonus swim; AJ Gillespie(11) in the 200 Freestyle and Galen Schwartz(10) in the 100 Breaststroke.
