GPAC Swimmers Named to SES All-Star Team

Nine members of the GPAC Junior group were recently named to the Southeastern Swimming All-Star team, many of whom have made consecutive appearances on the All-Star lists over the last three years. The SES All-Star team is made of swimmers who are 14 or under, was a Southeastern champion in an individual event, posted a top-5 time in the event which there is a SES record, or had a top-5 IMX score.

SHORT COURSE

Six swimmers made the team from the 2012-13 short course season. Renee and William Henderson, as 10-year olds, both made the team as individual champions, and both had the top time in the 100-yd breaststroke for the age group that season. Braden Barkley, 10, posted a top-5 IMX score to make the team again this year. James Henderson, as a 12-year old, made several top times, as did Cameron Jones (200 BR) and Walker Parra (200 BK), both 12. Cameron and Walker have made the All-Star team for the past three consecutive years.

LONG COURSE

GPAC boasted eight swimmers to the All-Star team from long course performances over the summer, and many of them from impressive middle and long distance swims. Once again, Renee ended her 10-year old age group swimming by posting the top breaststroke times in the 50 and 100-meter races, along with five other top-5 times, to make the long course team. William made the list as a 10-year old with several top-5 swims, including the top 50-meter breaststroke time. He also made the list as a new 11-year old by posting the fourth best IMX score.  Brother James made the list by posting top-5 times in the 200 BR, 200BK, 400 IM, 50 FR and 200 Fly. Braden Barkley made the LC team with several top-5 times. Paige Bridges, 10, made the team with her impressive IMX score, her first All-Star performance. Makayla Ludwick, 12, garnered her first All-Star team by a fifth place finish and top-5 time in the 800-meter freestyle at the SES Championships.  Walker Parra posted the best 1500-meter freestyle time in the LSC this summer, along with a top-5 time in the 200-meter backstroke! Seth Scoggins made his first All-Star team by posting the third best 1500-meter free time in the LSC.

Congratulations to all of these GPAC swimmers for their outstanding performances over the last year, and their representation of our team!
