GPAC kicked off the new year with its annual Winter Invitational held at UWF aquatic center January 12-14. Out of the 128 swimmers that competed, 121 of those swimmers achieved at least one personal best time, amassing over 57% best times for the team.

Anatolie Badila, 10, won the high-point award for his age group for the third consecutive meet this season. Anatolie swam seven new personal best times and won 7 of his individual events. 

GPAC had twelve other swimmers win individual events at the meet: Addison Adams, 9, Taylor Clements, 15, Graeson Garcia, 14, Aliza Gardner, 10, AJ Gillespie, 10, Amelia Ilnitskiy, 13, Braedon Jacobs, 17, Nicholas Lypko , 12, Anderson Saksa , 12, and Nathan Yoon, 14, each won one individual event. Marcela Dos Santos, 12, won four individual events and Ian Malone, 16, won three individual events. 

Congratulations to Aaron Benken, 13, Maren Fox, 9, Callie Harris, 14, Ava Howell, 13, Allie Johnson, 7, Chris McGrath, 13, Emma McLaughlin, 12, Tootsie Phillips, 6, Evangelina Reeser, 10, Jocelyn Rich, 16, Colin Stewart, 10, Charlie Striepeck, 10, Ripley Vignes, 12 and Justin Washburn, 12 who swam best times in all their individual events over the weekend.

    The team heads to Tallahassee to compete in the ATAC Mac Crutchfield Invitational at Florida State University during the last weekend in January. This will be the final regular season meet for the team and the last chance for swimmers to qualify for the championship meet. GPAC hosts the Region IV championship at UWF the last weekend in February.
