Taylor Clements gives verbal to West Virginia

Taylor Clements, the first swimmer in GPAC’s class of 2026, and the first GPAC swimmer since 2024, has given her verbal commitment to West Virginia University.

“I am so honored to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at WVU. I’d like to thank God, my parents, family, coaches and friends for all the support. Go Blue and Gold,” she commented.

Taylor is a three-time SES champion, a three-time FHSAA medalist, and was a consolation finalist at the 2024 Winter Junior Nationals in the 100-yd breaststroke. Taylor also set two new team records this last short course season and is preparing to attend the summer Junior Nationals in late July in Irvine, CA.

“Taylor has always had a great feel for the water and a need for speed,” said GPAC head coach Greg Johnson. “I am really excited to watch her join the ranks of NCAA Division I swimmers and see where she goes from here.”
