GPAC traveled to Huntsville, Alabama for the 2024 Short Course Southeastern Championships from February 15 th -18th. GPAC had a total of 32 swimmers participate in our SES Championship meet with 30 of GPAC swimmers achieving at least one new best time. GPAC accumulated 126 best times out of 194 total swims: coming out to 65% best times across the team. GPAC traveled to Tallahassee, Florida January 26-28 to compete in their last meet before the 2024 Southeastern Championships. GPAC had a total of 57 swimmers attend the meet, totaling 472 swims and achieving 211 best times- 45 % total best times for GPAC! 100% of the athletes who attended the meet achieved at least one personal best time. GPAC kicked off the new year with its annual Winter Invitational held at UWF aquatic center January 12-14. Out of the 128 swimmers that competed, 121 of those swimmers achieved at least one personal best time, amassing over 57% best times for the team. Harris hands verbal to Carson-Newman Senior Josephine “Jojo” Harris verbally committed to swim for Carson-Newman University next year. Santa’s BEST Meet Recap Nearly 40 GPAC swimmers rounded out the 2023 competitive year by heading over to Biloxi to race in the Santa’s BEST swim meet December 2-3. GPAC named Bronze Medal Club for 2024 GPAC earned USA Swimming’s Club Excellence Bronze Medal club designation for 2024 announced by the national governing body this week.
